As we journey toward a metaphorical Bethlehem to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the real Bethlehem and hundreds of other Palestinian communities are under siege, literally walled off by Israeli government occupation. Christians in the Holy Land are Palestinian and therefore subject to all the laws of apartheid policies. An international “Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction” movement is successfully bringing public pressure to bear on unjust Israeli practices while advocating for the safety of all persons: Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Israeli, Palestinian: all persons.
