First, I want to thank all of you who supported the youth group by participating in our Equal Exchange coffee and chocolate fundraiser. We raised a good bit of money for the Youth Group, and did so in a way that we hope gives farmers and others involved in food production a fair price for their goods. If you made an order through this fundraiser, we expect to have orders delivered to the church by the end of the week, so we should be contacting you soon for you to come pick up your order. Thanks again for your support!
In November, the youth participated in the Celebration of Giving event at the Acton Folk Center. Thanks to Betty Hibler and Tennant Kirk of the Union Church Mission Board for helping to organize this event! It was a great opportunity for folks to see the different organizations around the community that are giving back, and an opportunity to support those organizations. The youth group helped set up and take down at the event. They also tabled and sold Equal Exchange products for our fundraiser.
In December, the you will be helping to decorate the church for Christmas! This past Sunday, several youth were part of the group of elves that gathered at the church to decorate the sanctuary and outside. This coming Wednesday, we will be continuing that work, as well as decorating the Community Room downstairs. To celebrate the season, we will also be going ice skating and Christmas caroling here in December.
