Thrivent Members – We are making plans to raise awareness around our 2019 5-4-3-2-1 Vision and our relationship with Thrivent Financial. If you are willing to tell Dave Kobersmith you are a Thrivent Member he would like to talk to you about the possibility of using an Action Team that is available to you as a member. For reasons of confidentiality, Thrivent Financial representatives cannot tell church staff who are Thrivent members but you can – if you are willing – let me know. I can help you use your Action Team or Choice Dollars to help Union Church programs or other non-profit programs if you wish. Thanks, Dave Kobersmith, Church Administrator, 859-986-3725 or davek@union-church.org.
Thrivent story from Joan English (Union Church Office Administrator)… if we’ve ever had a conversation about retirement I probably told you something like “My retirement plan is to work til noon on the day of my funeral.” But … over the past year or so our Thrivent representatives met with other church members here in the building and helped with setting up the church’s endowment with InFaith Community Foundation, and I learned more about the heart and soul of the company. A couple of months ago – with great fear – I met with Rachel Hooker, our Thrivent representative, and talked about my current financial situation and goals. The prospect of actually KNOWING my financial position was pretty terrifying but it was SO helpful! Rachel looked over my financial picture, assessed my tolerance for risk (minimal), helped me set up an automatic deduction (a SMALL automatic deduction, but hey – it’s something) and open an IRA. I feel so much better having done that and I’ve been able to increase my contribution to Union Church also.
