With the completion of a week-end “retreat” during which we covered six of the Stephen Ministry Care-giving Training Modules, our Stephen Ministers have reached the half-way point. We are very pleased to report that all eight are still enthusiastic! Our weekly sessions will continue through November. “The Answer is Almost Always Love” theme has pervaded our Stephen Ministry training so far. The Stephen Ministry training regimen is at the core of the program and establishes a reliable foundation for us as caregivers. I am incredibly impressed, reliant upon and grateful for the structured framework of the intensive training materials, coursework, and multi-faceted learning techniques. It quickly becomes evident that Stephen Ministry isn’t a “program” or “activity” – it is a way of living in faith.
