Union Church is an active supporter of Luther Luckett Christian Church, one of a very few congregations that operate completely behind locked bars. Supporting external churches bring preaching and music to nearly 80 inmate-members of LLCC, and Union Church has the service scheduled for Friday evening October 26, 2012.
We’re allowed to bring up to 10 visitors to the service, that Rev. Kent and Rev. Rachel will be leading. By filling in the form below, you can join them and help worship and provide much needed fellowship for the men of Luther Luckett. Those who have gone have found it a profoundly moving experience. No preparation is needed, but we will need to arrive at the prison in La Grange, KY by 6:45pm for processing. Since it’s a two hour drive, our carpools will need to leave Berea by 4:45. The service begins at 7:30 and we’ll be leaving by 8:45pm, arriving back to Berea before 11:00pm.
The Department of Corrections requires the following information. You need to sign up by the morning of OCTOBER 9 in order to be able to go. Because we are limited to only 10 people including the ministers, please do not sign up unless you are sure you can go. This is an excellent way to share the Union Church spirit, and to receive the gift of the faith of those behind bars. You will certainly receive more than you know in this exchange of blessings!
