Blessings to our Luke 10 Leadership Team, training Sept. 25-29 in Baltimore. The Rev. Dr. Jeff Pool is our special preacher today. Rev. Kent, Moderator Betsy Whaley, Maranda Weckman, Joy Gritton and Stephen Black Bear LaBoueff are at the SURJ/Kairos Center “Luke 10” congregations retreat. Luke 10 congregations equip themselves and others to serve Jesus’ message of inclusion and justice, countering narratives that use Christian practice and scripture to wound others and justify nationalism and authoritarianism. They will return to help guide our congregation in practicing love out loud. Please hold the team in your prayers and lift travel mercies for them. kairoscenter.org/luke-10-congregations
Our Mission and Service Board is collecting food for the Madison County backpack program. This backpack goes home with children to make sure they have access to food over the weekend. There is a bin in the vestibule with a photo of the food needed. These items are the most expensive for the program to purchase. Will you please add one of two cans to your grocery list? Your donations are much appreciated!
Open Table Community Meals Every Wednesday 5:30pm-6:30pm:“Open Table” is a “pay what you can” ($0-$$) meal open to anyone. Come share great food & company!
