Pews Installed and the Painting Begins

August 19, 2014

Work progressed swiftly this week after a weekend of letting the final floor coats dry. As of today (Tuesday) all of the pews have been relocated to their new positions, tightened, and been screwed together securely. The new angled side sections provides wider aisles and improved viewing angles. We’ve also left more room for wheelchairs and rocking chairs.

Removing the unused heating grills on either side of the organ wall and patching the drywall was also completed today. Tomorrow the painting of this wall begins. While the color won’t change, the pilasters and trim will get a durable high-gloss coat and everything should look fresh. If all goes according to schedule our first worship in the new space is planned for September 7.
