It’s time once again for Union Church’s Bread for the World Offering of Letters. Union Church became a Covenanted Member of Bread for the World in 2004 and has made an Offering of Letters every year since then. This coming Sunday, March 8, immediately following the Lenten Lunch, we invite you to stay and write a letter to your Senators and Congressperson. Information on this year’s focus on increased national and international funding for early childhood nutrition, as well as writing materials and envelopes will be provided. Let’s see if we can exceed the 60 letters that were sent in 2019! The Mission and Service Board will provide addresses, collect and count the letters, put on the stamps, and get them in the mail so that we can report back to BFW.
Even if you can’t be present Sunday, you can find the same information on the Bread for the World website, bread.org. But we would very much like to “count” those letters, as well, so please drop them off at the church office at the beginning of next week. We will be happy to add the stamps.
Thanks and we hope to see you Sunday.
