Welcome Berea College Family and Friends!
We are delighted to participate in the 2025 Homecoming events of Berea College this weekend, and especially welcome returning students, friends, and family. We are also grateful for the homecoming choir and their music this morning, a combination of singers gathered under the direction of Dr. XT Hong and Dr. Steve Bolster.
Extravagant Generosity!…. That’s one of our core principles taken right from the life and ministry of Jesus. Generosity to God’s work helps build a beloved kin-dom of for all people and we are especially thankful for everyone joining together in our recent Giving Day! We’re gathering funds and pledges to plan carefully for next year. There’s still time to put down financial roots and widen the reach. Make a recurring gift or pledge today!
If you have made a pledge—or will make one today—meet Jessi Montgomery at the Peace Bell after worship to pick up your key chain.
No Open Table Nov. 26 … BUT …
Join the Thanksgiving Day Potluck, 2:30-4:00pm! Chef Deb Beishline will provide turkey and mashed potatoes, and all who can will bring all the trimmings to share. Your generosity supports a meal for those who can’t cook for themselves, our neighbors with not enough, friends who long for company and conversation, and all the fellowship of Christ’s banquet of love. You can come at any time during the open hours (it helps if we stagger the seatings!) and a donation basket will support the meal as well as our Wednesdays’ “Open Table” community meals for all. NOTE: There will be no meal this Wednesday. Please join us on Thursday! Let us know you’re coming!
Hanging of the Greens Nov. 30, 2 pm — all welcome, meet in the sanctuary. If you don’t live locally, you can STILL help beautify the sanctuary with poinsettias! We’ll print your dedication in the bulletin & show it onscreen. Watch for details!
Time for PIE! Rina Tanaka’s (our Video Production Manager AND Band Director at Rockcastle County) students are selling pies as a fund-raiser. Order here: forms.gle/kh3wdoy8QhswsGZ87
Christmas Gifts for Kids! It’s time to consider donating new toys, board games, stuffed animals, hats, gloves, and scarves for the Christmas toys/books giveaway at St Clare Catholic Church. New or gently used books and jigsaw puzzles are also needed. Board books, picture books, early reader books, chapter books, and young adult books are appropriate.
Children ages birth to 16 years old receive the gifts. We anticipate having a larger number of children to serve this year.
Please bring your items to Union Church by December 15th.
Heating Assistance through LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) is available. Appointments required — call 859-544-1713 for info on what documents are needed and to make an appointment.
