Berea College Homecoming Next Weekend!
Many events around campus and town, here’s what’s happening at Union Church:
Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 pm, Black Music Ensemble’s Homecoming Concert will be held in the sanctuary. All welcome, no charge
Sunday, Nov. 20’s Worship Service, we will welcome Rev. LeSette Wright, Dean of Berea College’s Danforth Chapel, to the Pulpit. Dr, Dwayne Compton (‘01) will serve as Worship Leader, and our choir will join Berea College’s Homecoming Choir in singing the anthem, What Love Demands, by Mark Hayes, commissioned by Union Church and dedicated to the public health workers, medical personnel, chaplains, and front-line essential workers who answered love’s demands in a time of national pandemic. by the people of Union Church, Berea, KY, in memory of Mr. Tom Warth, Dr. Richard and Ms. Judy Drake, and Ms. Mary Lou and Dr. Lester Pross.

Next Sunday there will be an opportunity to covenant together — whether you are a member of the community who worships online, in-person, or both! No prior action on your part is required, but if you have any questions at all, we’d like to help. Working together, we want to make God’s love visible and real to all.
Old Time Music Jam
November 26, 10-12:30. Union Church Parlor. Sing away those mashed-potato blues in good company! All musical skill levels are welcome! Why not brush the frost off all of your acoustic instruments and come on out the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving to listen, learn a new tune, just play along, dance or sing. Most 2nd & 4th Saturdays all winter.
Union Church Budget Meeting
December 11, 3 pm. Our budget is a theological document that tells you where our values are and how we’ve decided to act those out. As the gospel of Matthew reminds us, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Please attend this yearly meeting to help decide where our hearts will be for 2023. 2023 Budgets and Budget Policy will be available the week before the meeting.
