- Greg Lakes has been appointed as a member of the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. Greg Lakes, of Berea, is a funeral director and embalmer. He will represent the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and serve for a term expiring May 31, 2022.
- Prayers and fond farewell to Roger and Lynn Cook who have relocated to Missouri. Roger and Lynn were beloved members of the Union Family, but wanted to slip away without fanfare to the next phase of their life. We send them with God’s blessing and our love!

- Congratulations to Steve and Teresa Gowler on the birth of their grandson, Tobin Fredric Trodahl, who was born 9am on June 22 to their daughter Rebekah and her husband Halv!

- Rev. Carla recently performed a small memorial service for Minerva Bobbitt, who has died at 96.
- Congratulations to Leslie Small Stokes, who has completed her ordination process in the United Church of Christ. She will next be examined by lay persons and local clergy. Upon a successful vote at that council, an ordination service will be scheduled!
- Kevin Burke was posthumously awarded the Madison County Public Library “Friend of the Year” Award at the Friends of the Library annual meeting, June 28.
