The broad front porch of Union Church has hosted countless wedding receptions, class reunion pictures, candlelit vigils and gatherings for prayer and protest. Now it’s getting a makeover to seal cracks and keep it useful and beautiful for the years to come.
The project involved chiseling out the nearly 100 year old aggregate bed, as well as the thin acrylic sealing later that was applied 12 years ago. New concrete, colored and textured to complement the natural stone of the steps and pillars was then poured at a slight slope to better drain rainwater.
Many thanks to the Properties Board and Church Administrator Dave Kobersmith for the planning and preparation which helped complete the project. The work was made possible by the weekly gifts and tithes in the plate that keep our ministries vital and supported!
