The Heartbeat of Lent
As we move into Lent, we begin to think and reflect on our lives. This year, the church’s theme for Lent is “The Answer Is Almost Always Love.” We have all been affected by a situation where we must answer that love does eventually win. But, what is needed for love? A strong, beating heart (metaphorically). Throughout Lent, some (if not all) of the service music, choral music, and handbell music will reflect a pulsating heartbeat. This will also represent the heartbeat of Jesus. As we move further through Lent, and closer to Maundy Thursday, the heartbeat will slow down and gradually weaken. It will be then. on Easter, that the heartbeat is brought back, fully resurrected, and full of strength and love. Please reflect with us on this musical journey.
