Greetings from Samuel Mugabi of Samuel’s Kids orphanage in Uganda. He and the children watch Union Church services every week and are so appreciative of the support that is making meals, school, and a chance for life possible for each one of them! You can see pictures on their Facebook page!
We have all been praying for refugees suffering around the world. The Rohingya people in Burma (Myanmar) are in desperate need of foreign pressure and assistance. A bill moving through congress could provide critical support and our Senator, Mitch McConnell, is key to scheduling that vote. Sign this petition supported by The Kentucky Council of Churches, American Jewish World Service – AJWS, and dozens of other clergy and faith groups from around the state to let him know of our support. https://kycouncilofchurches.salsalabs.org/rohingya/index.html
Brrr! Why am I chilly at worship? Why are we spending so much money on air conditioning?! Our Sanctuary and Chapel organs both suffer when it’s damp, and the Sanctuary organ loses its tuning when it gets too hot (or very cold). Fluctuating temperatures wreak havoc with our delicate instruments. Paying a bit more on the electric bill is actually much thriftier than paying for more organ services throughout the year.
Rev. Kent will be out of the office Monday -Thursday this coming week.

Chorus
He is the Way.
Follow Him through the Land of Unlikeness;
You will see rare beasts, and have unique adventures.
He is the Truth.
Seek Him in the Kingdom of Anxiety;
You will come to a great city that has expected your return for years.
He is the Life.
Love Him in the World of the Flesh;
And at your marriage all its occasions shall dance for joy.
…
And life is the destiny you are bound to refuse until you have consented to die.
— W. H. Auden
