Nancy Swan Jones passed away in the early hours of April 21, 2016 at the Berea Health Care Center. She was born March 23, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Kenneth Swan and Betty Mandl Swan Balfour. She graduated from Berea College in 1955, where she met and married Loyal Jones.
Nancy taught school in North Carolina, Wisconsin and Kentucky. She directed Woman’s Industrial Program at Union Church for several years and was active in the Girl Scouts as a scout and leader. She and her husband are lifetime honorary deacons of Union Church where they have been members since 1958.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Loyal Jones; daughters, Carol Elizabeth Jones and Susan Ellen Jones; son-in-law, Charlie Broster; son, Scott Jones and daughter-in-law Susan Packer Jones; and grandchildren, Zeke Marrie and Vivian Leva.
Memorial Service 3:00 pm, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Union Church with Rev. Kent Gilbert officiating. Please join the family in the Community Room for refreshments after the service.
