The Berea Farmers’ Market is a year-round market that provides you with seasonal, fresh and local fruits, veggies, plants, honey, eggs, poultry, meat and more! We are a “growers only” market, which means if a farmer sells it, he or she raised it! You will also be able to find prepared food like bread, canned vegetables and jams. Our local artisans make our market complete and sell only unique, hand crafted artwork.
Berea Home Village
Berea Home Village is a newly formed member of the National Village to Village Movement. A membership based local non-profit, its mission is to enhance the lives of seniors 60 and above living in core neighborhoods in Berea. There objective is to coordinate and consolidate existing resources, programs and services, in ways that promote independence and provide on-going opportunities for elders and others to remain active and engaged. Volunteers will assist with basic day-to-day tasks and access to social, cultural, and educational activities, health and wellness programs, and volunteer opportunities. To date, there is no existing service in Berea or Madison County that fulfills these basic needs through the village “one-stop shopping” concept.

Since 1992 local volunteers and donors have partnered with 121 Habitat families to build or improve a place called home. Over 100 affordable housing solutions have been built in Berea, Richmond or Winchester. We continue to build or rehab 3-5 homes per year and have a goal to complete 7 home repair projects in 2017. Heifer Project International
Heifer International’s mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth. The New Opportunity School for Women (NOSW) is a school for Appalachian women who are determined to rebuild their lives and shape a fulfilling and successful future. The NOSW Foundation is the umbrella organization for support and further development of these campuses in Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. No Child Hungry, No Child Cold
No Child Hungry, No Child Cold is a mission outreach of Union Church in cooperation with local school family resource centers and other agencies working directly with children. Your gift makes possible the immediate help for a child who may not have enough food for the weekend, or enough winter clothing to remain healthy. Gifts purchase these items working with counselors and other support staff.

We strive to provide the artisans and farmers in developing countries a fair price for their products. You will find baskets, musical instruments, toys and games, and home decor items. We also carry a wide variety of clothing and accessories at our store located on the College Square in Berea. Donations are used to fund the training of Volunteers, equipment and other outreach so we can keep our prices low and the value to our artisans high.
Pride Education Project
The Pride Education Project is a Central Kentucky organization based in Berea KY that seeks to educate communities about the richness of LGBT history, the importance of protecting LGBT rights, and the benefits of civic engagement for LBGT people and their allies. By focusing on facilitating public discussion forums and educational presentations, the Pride Education Project aims to promote the social acceptance of LGBT people in Madison County, Central KY, and in Appalachia more broadly.

Sustainable Berea works towards creating a model for sustainable community agriculture, and it provides a variety of workshops and events to help educate others on the benefits and implementation of sustainable practices. Recently, SB has created the Berea Urban Agricultural District and the Urban Farm. The Urban Farm’s main mission is to produce high-quality food for residents and visitors in a manner that restores the land, educates youth and adults, provides a neighborhood gathering place, increases food security, promotes local economic development, and improves the health and quality of life of the community. TLC Animal Refuge
TLC Animal Refuge, Inc loves animals and believes in the sanctity of all life. Our mission is to implement a humane and innovative approach to cat and dog overpopulation through an education, spay/neuter, and adoption program in southern Madison County and surrounding counties. TLC rescues and takes in stray cats and dogs that have sometimes been abused or neglected. TLC maintains a small shelter that works to adopt out these amazing pets into loving homes. We also manage a trap/spay/return program for feral/stray cats. We would love for you to adopt one of our wonderful pets. They are all waiting for loving homes.

Woman’s Industrial Sewing and Crafts
One of Berea’s oldest self-help organizations for women, the WISC program was founded in 1893 to give women a chance to repair used clothing for their families. Cloth that couldn’t be repaired was turned into quilts. The quilting tradition continues, and WISC teaches women to make high quality quilts and crafts, many of whom are donated to children in hospitals or who are sick at home. Your gift will contribute fabric, materials, and supplies to the women who work each week to make someone’s life better!
