Rev. Kent Gilbert, Jeff From, Betty Hibler, and Mary Wiese were among 350 pastors and church leaders at the Stephen Series Leaders’ Training Course in St.Louis, MO from April 23 – April 29.
Betty Hibler reported that “it was a setting in which we could meet many dedicated Christians from a variety of denominations. We were united in mission: learning how to bring love and care to hurting people.” According to Mary Wiese, “the week long fast-paced conference gave us much to absorb mentally and spiritually, as well as a box full of extensive leadership training resources.”
Rev. Kent commented: “Stephen Ministry gives us an opportunity to help build the caring community Union Church espouses in its statement of faith. It blesses both caregivers and care receivers and will be available to anyone in the church or in the community.”
