Finally finished a temari that began as a sermon illustration in December of 2017 at our Longnight service. After starting with a misshapen tangle of yarn, the turning and turning eventually rounded the form, evened it out and made it possible to cover with fine thread. Then it sat. In January of this year I finally picked it up and started laying color down thread by thread. A couple of rounds before bed, a bunch during a retreat, and just as I had time. It’s a reminder that sometimes lovely things don’t come in grand ways. Just one thread after another until the pattern resolves to joy.
