Union Church Orientation February 7, 2023, 7pm Want to know more about Union Church, how it works, who’s here, and what happens Monday through Saturday? Have a question or two for the minister or other staff? Wondering if this is a community that can support you on your spiritual journeys? Then this orientation is for you! During this Zoom meeting with Rev. Kent we’ll look at:
· Your questions about worship, participation, and support and the “flavor” of this congregation
· What prayers and support the church can offer on your journey at this time
· Your questions about work we do in the community and what partnerships God is calling us toward
· Your questions about the long history of this community of believers and how you might already be connected!
· What membership means and looks like and the many ways to be family on a walk of faith.

Book/Media Sale Feb. 8! The Berea Chapter of AAUW (American Association of University Women) announces this year’s Book/Media Sale to be held Wednesday, February 8 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Berea College Post Office (CPO) lobby on the lowest level of the Woods-Penniman Building. All transactions must be by cash, check, or Venmo.
Donations of print and digital media may be brought to that location the day before: Tuesday, February 7 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Music Jam Feb. 11, 10 – 12:30, Parlor. All musical skill levels are welcome! Why not brush the frost off all of your acoustic instruments and come on Saturday morning to listen, learn a new tune, just play along, dance or sing. Most 2nd & 4th Saturdays all winter.

February is Black History Month
Black History Month began in 1976 but was initiated by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, known as the “Father of Black History,” as “Negro History Week” in 1926 to ensure students would learn Black History. Here are a few local education opportunities:
¨ Learn about Dr. Woodson Fridays in February – the Berea College Hutchins Library offers the public a chance to learn more about Berea College graduate and historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson during the library’s upcoming Friday Finds series. Dr. Woodson is a distinguished 1903 Berea College alumnus.
