Missing Goats at Open Table!
Formed in February 2018, the Missing Goats came together through their love of Irish, Scottish, Americana, folk, and traditional music. Based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, they’ve performed throughout the Knoxville area and in their travels to County Kerry in southwest Ireland.
The band features Berea’s own Chip Bailey on fiddle and bodhran, Tom Beehan on banjo, and Steve Reddick on guitar and harmonica. Special guests Fionan and Mary Casey (playing guitar and mandolin respectively) will return this year, visiting from County Kerry, Ireland, where they live in the village of Sneem on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Focusing on pub ballads and tunes that revolve around love, unrequited love, the sea, history, and other age-old universal topics, the Goats mix their music with a lively dose of on-stage fun, banter, and audience participation. Save the date of Wednesday, March 19th (St. Patrick’s week) for “Open Table,” featuring an Irish-inspired meal at 5:30, followed by live music, dance, and sing-along starting at 6:30.
Come and be part of this truly interactive “Irish Evening” at Union Church again this year. We’ll be sure to have the kettle on!
