Did You Know…?

• Properties Board has been very active making sure our physical environment is well-maintained! The Community Room and education hallways were stripped and refinished in the last weeks of May.
• The sanctuary windows and trim will receive a new coat of paint (the first in many years) the week of June 11.
• Work is underway to install a new ceiling mounted projector in the community for meetings and information.
• Solar production at the church is getting stronger as the days go longer. Check out our interactive energy meter at https://union-church.org/sun-power-union-live-meter/
• Our front porch surface will be resurfaced in July! Stay tuned for more information.
• The Berea Leadership Experience plans are coming along! We look forward to a great week of camp fun and practicing conflict resolution July 16-20. Thanks to generous donors, including the Union Church choir concert, we are fully funded for this year. We currently have openings for 5 campers and 3 adult staff counselors. Register through our Facebook page. To get more information about the counselor openings, contact kim.kobersmith@gmail.com. Includes a stipend of $150.
• The second class of Union Church’s Stephen Ministers is nearly half-way through completion. Stephen Ministers work with the pastor to provide one-on-one spiritual care to members of the congregation. They all complete at least 50 hours of training to start, and continue with regular supervision and continuing education. Members of the second class are Jen Eich, Susan Kramer, John Payne and Amy Williams.
• $714 Was raised with the special “Prayer of St. Francis” vocal and handbell choir concert to support scholarships at the Berea Leadership Experience for youth!
• Union Church was visited by the 15-member delegation from our sister-region, Hokuto City, Japan, May 14th. A sister to our peace bell hangs in that city.
