Longnight Service of Prayers for Healing, Saturday, Dec 21, 7pm.
Each year, on the longest night of the year, we gather in Cowan Chapel (our smaller worship space), for prayers for healing. The season, with its lights and bustle can overlook those who may not be feeling the joy of the season.
Losses of every kind continue to ache long after the events, and the stresses and struggles to be whole and well are often long and hard.
This service is a Christmas service for anyone and everyone feeling close to grief, sadness, emptiness. It is a “come as you emotionally are” service meant to acknowledge difficulty and to be reminded of small lights around us all.
TODAY! Union Church’s Annual Budget Meeting Dec. 14 at 12:15 pm. Why Come to a Budget Meeting? The budget of Union Church is the very core of our ministry. It’s often not thrilling, but it is a theological document that tells you where our values are and how we’ve decided to act those out. As the gospel of Matthew reminds us, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Please attend this meeting to help decide where our hearts will be for 2026. Copies available in the vestibule & Community Room.
Christmas Basket Project w/ St. Clare. Every year the Berea Community reaches out to our low-income neighbors to make the holidays a little easier. Meijer will do all the grocery shopping and deliver to St. Clare.
BUT if you feel like shopping – you can bring toys, winter hats/gloves/scarves, new or gently used books (for EVERY age group) and jigsaw puzzles to church by Dec. 15. You can CONTRIBUTE toward groceries by filling out the form.
Would you like to help with arranging (Dec. 21) & distributing food baskets (Dec. 22)? Contact Dennis Jacobs (606-386-1921 or dnjacobs2@gmail.com) Arrange & distribute toys? Contact Teri Thesing (jtthesing6@gmail.com or text 859-248-1637). Thank you for being a part of the Christmas Light!
