Community Life and Growth Board

A wonderful gathering of Union Church family members of all ages celebrated autumn in great abundance last Saturday afternoon!  We enjoyed food, fellowship, hayrides, music, stargazing, and visiting with one another last Saturday afternoon and evening at the Rhodes,’ Gilbert’s, and Friends’ lovely backyard and fields. Come one, come all, and bring your friends!  Union Church is celebrating fall with a hayride, campfire, games, songs, and more!  Join us from 4-7pm on Saturday, Nov. 10th at the Friends Meeting House (300 Harrison Rd.).  Bring a side dish if you can, and an attitude for fun!

YOU are welcome to Wednesday Nite Live! tomorrow for supper and fellowship at 5:45 pm (donation if able).  At the Freinds Meeting House, 300 Harrison Rd.  Youth Groups and Bob Berger’s study class for adults are at 6:30.  If you come, Grace McKenzie would greatly appreciate it if you brought some newspapers and magazines for a collage.

Who said we couldn’t pull off a Bazaar with no building and only limited yard space? Each year we give thanks for the blessing of creation with a special service inspired by St. Francis of Assisi. This year, held in conjunction with our Care of Creation booth at the Berea Solar Fair, more than 35 pets and their “persons” were part of our blessing. Some very special guests joined us for Wednesday Night Live this week: four young adults who are walking more than 3000 miles, all the way across the U.S.A., to raise awareness of the DREAM Act.  They started in San Fransisco, and will conclude on November 2 in Washington, D.C.
