This camp was borne of a desire to honor Dr. Michelle Tooley’s commitment to peace and justice in education, and a need to help Bereans cross the bridges that divide us.
Berea Leadership Experience will be July 24th-28th, 9am-3pm at the Berea Friends Meeting House. Kids ages 6-13 are invited to be campers, and teenagers older than 13 are invited to be Junior Counselors. The cost is very low: $75 per student, and up to half of the campers can receive scholarships of $50 to make it even more affordable.
Can you help make this dream a reality? Here are ways we could use your help!
- Do you know kids ages 6-13 who would like to come? Register them here: www.union-church.org/ble
- Do you have a van to help with transportation? We have some students in Richmond who would like to come but need a ride each day.
- Do you know any high school students who would be a good assistant group leader?
- Could you sponsor a kid through a donation? $10 pays for a t-shirt; $50 will pay for a scholarship; $100 pays for a Counselor; $200 pays for a teacher; $500 pays for the curriculum!
- Do you have sports and games equipment that could be borrowed for the week? (bats, balls, jump rope, hula hoops, etc)
If you can help, please contact the camp director, Kim Kobersmith kim.kobersmith@gmail.com.
Thanks for helping this dream come true!
