Berea Leadership Experience July 15-19 – Registrations open!
Forming leaders who can successfully navigate the kinds of everyday conflicts we all experience.
We’re excited to share our theme for this summer’s experience, “I am enough.” You may recognize the inspiration as coming from the Barbie movie!
As always, we accept every camper regardless of their ability to pay (until all spots fill up) because of generous individuals and organizations like you!
If you’d like to sponsor a camper or make a general donation, please do so at this link: https://bit.ly/3mr93OJ or via check to Union Church, 200 Prospect Street, Berea, KY 40403, with BLE in the memo line.
Your $60 gift will make a weeklong camp experience possible for a child and support the important work of a local leader.
Campers can register at: shorturl.at/ioyDU
Utility assistance is available, LIHEAP applications now open
Warmer weather is approaching, meaning that people will be cranking up the air conditioning. However, the cost of utilities can get overwhelming for families.
Applications are now open for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program – or LIHEAP, which provides utility assistance to low income residents as part of their Spring Subsidy. Info is at foothillscap.org
According to Kentucky River Foothills, LIHEAP is the main avenue they use to offer utility assistance. The LIHEAP Program has two components to assist income-eligible participants: subsidy and crisis. Subsidy is a one-time assistance, based on household size and income. Crisis will assist in paying a disconnect notice or assist with bulk fuel such as propane, kerosene, wood, or coal.
It’s crucial for eligible households to apply promptly, as applications will be accepted through May 31, 2024, or until funds are depleted.
To apply, email alyle@foothillscap.org
