¨ Hymn #451 Be Thou My Vision Slane
- Be thou my vision, O God of my heart; nothing surpasses the love you impart – You my best though, by day or by night, waking or sleeping, your presence my light.
- Be now my wisdom, and be my true word; ever within me, my soul is assured; Mother and Father, you are both to me, now and forever your child I will be.
- Riches I need not, nor life’s empty praise, you, my inheritance, now and always; You and you only are first in my heart, great god, my treasure, may we never part.
- Sovereign of heaven, my victory won, may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

Affirmation of Faith Adapted from Romans 8:35-39
One: Let us say again what we believe:
All: We believe there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus; and we know that in everything God works for good for those who love God, who are called according to God’s purpose.
We are convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

¨ Closing Hymn #595 Some Glad Morning I’ll Fly Away
1 Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away to a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away.
Chorus: I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away. When I die hallelujah by and by I’ll fly away.
2 When the shadows of this life have gone, I’ll fly away. Like a bird from prison bars has flown, I’ll fly away.
3 Just a few more weary days and then, I’ll fly away. To a land where joys shall never end, I’ll fly away. Chorus

¨ Procession to the Memorial Garden
The Payne family invites all who wish to join them in the Memorial Garden as we place John’s remains in the setting he so cherished. The pastor will lead the family through doors at the front of the sanctuary, while friends are asked to use the doors at the rear of the sanctuary. Exiting the front of the building, turn left along the path to reach the Memorial Garden.
