Syringe Exchange Program Community Forum February 21 7:00 – 8:30 PM Russel Acton Folk Center

The Madison County Health Department is proposing implementation of a Syringe Exchange Program. The Syringe Exchange Program’s goal is to reduce the transmission of bloodborne pathogens in the community by utilizing a harm reduction program and to reduce the risk of accidental needle sticks caused by improper disposal of used needles. The program will implement a one-for-one model.
Please join us for a community forum to discuss the need for a syringe exchange program for Madison County. Program experts, local health officials, law enforcement and other community officials will be at the program to present the facts concerning disease prevention and program procedures. The forums are an opportunity for policymakers to gather community input and to address any questions or concerns the public may have.
